Dance the night away under the stars and the Jackson Covered Bridge on Saturday August 02, 2014 starting at 7 PM. Featuring... Jon Sarty and the White Mountain Boys. As with all talented musicians they will have their own following as well as everyone who has been to the Covered Bridge Dance in the past, therefore we recommend you come early and pick your spot. There are a number of tables and chairs provided but they go fast. Bring your own chairs, blankets, friends, family and, of course Dancing Shoes. The Jackson Community comes together for this Old Fashioned block party once a year and you are invited.

It isn't often you see any of New Hampshire's Covered Bridges closed to vehicles... but on this very special night the Jackson Covered Bridge will be closed from 5 PM until midnight for this great event. You know an event is worth the trip when it stops traffic... signs will be posted and our very own Jackson Police crew will be on hand to redirect traffic as needed. If you are visiting a local business located in the loop merely continue north on route 16 and take the first right after the Covered Bridge to get into Jackson Village. Please note... all Jackson Village businesses normally opened at night will most certainly remain opened during this event. So please... mark your calendars and join us for a night of Dancing under the Stars and the Jackson Covered Bridge.

Parking for this event will be marked. The entrance fee to the Covered Bridge Dance is FREE thanks to our major sponsors: Whitney's Inn at Jackson, Inn at Jackson, Flossie's General Store, Homer's Appliance. Donations are always welcome.

Be sure to come hungry and enjoy a wonderfully delicious menu prepared by Sweeney Sensations!

Remember it was through the eyes of the artists of the White Mountain School of Art that the world first became aware of the beauty of Jackson. Many of the artists of the 19th century White Mountain School came to Jackson to view the lovely scenes we live with every day from pastoral farms to the grandeur of Mt. Washington. In 1923, Wallace Nutting, author of "New Hampshire Beautiful" put it well when he said "People of Jackson can claim as their advantage to be in the immediate view of the best of the White Mountains. Jackson undoubtedly stands high among the more desirable mountain towns as a goal of visitation."
This holds true today. Works of art from local and visiting artists who convey their vision of this spectacular area on canvas continue to be popular purchases.

This event can be enjoyed by singles, couples and the entire family... with something special for each.

Please be sure to check back as we get closer to the event for a list of Artists and Artisans who will be showing at the event.

Originally from Maine, Jonathan has performed throughout the country. His style is a blend of classic American roots, country, and folk rock, often referred to as Americana. Jonathan has produced multiple projects and fronted several bands in many forms over the years. His voice is resonant and powerful with excellent pitch and an outstanding range. His style is all his own and his unique guitar arrangements lend themselves to the rock band format and the great players he has worked with.

Admission is free to all dates in the Mountainside Music Series. Bands are scheduled to perform from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, Wildcat Mountain will make the judgment call on the day of the event if it will be held outdoors on the stage or upstairs in the Wildcat Pub. We plan to never cancel entertainment. Stay tuned to our website, facebook and twitter pages for event details, or give us a call at 1-888-SKI-WILD to find out what's going on.
